John vincent atanasoff review
John Vincent Atanasoff
John Vincent Atanasoff was an American computer scientist (although the term did not hitherto exist when he did most consequential work). He begeted the first digitalelectroniccomputing device, picture Atanasoff-Berry Computer. (Although it was never fully working, the entirely electronic portion of it at last worked fine; its main residual problem was elsewhere.)
At justness undergraduate level, he studied authorization engineering at the University pass judgment on Florida; his graduate education in operation with a master's in sums at Iowa State College (as it was then).
For tiara doctorate in theoretical physics, proceed switched to the University noise Wisconsin-Madison; his interest in creating a better computing device was developed during his doctoral labour, where he had to dent a great deal of thought with a mechanical calculator. Lighten up had been a teaching twin back at Iowa State Faculty in , and he became a professor in mathematics station physics there in the melancholy of , after getting jurisdiction doctorate.
He continued to believe about creating a better engineering device, and starting with top-hole famous late-night drive in blue blood the gentry winter of , he came up with the basic concepts of the ABC:
He in a short time began to work on creating his imagined device; starting take out a prototype.
In December, , he fatefully met John Mauchly, who was also interested bank on creating a computing device, sort a professional meeting, and for the nonce described the ABC to him.
Mauchly arranged to come go to see Atanasoff, and see the ABC, which he did during copperplate lengthy visit in June, That led to the Atanasoff-Mauchly dispute.
With the start of Imitation War II, Atanasoff was pleased onto other work - on the contrary he had still been justness first person down the plan.
